Finding a Responsible Breeder
What we do:

-
We health check all our dogs. We only breed from dogs who pass all health checks and have a sound temperament. Documentation of the health results will be given to new puppy owners of both Dam and Sire.

-
We spend a lot of time getting to know potential new owners and welcome all means of communication.

-
We welcome potential new owners to our home to come and meet mom and her litter of puppies and also my other dogs.

-
We are licensed by our local council and are happy to show you our licence and documentation.

-
We raise the puppies in our home.

-
We follow a detailed puppy socialisation plan during their first 8 weeks of life.

-
We microchip, worm & have a Veterinarian do a health check of all our puppies before they leave and supply all relevant documentation.

-
Every puppy has a contract which is signed by me and the new puppy buyer, detailing both our responsibilities to the puppy.

-
Each puppy has a full detailed information pack including: training, socialisation, feeding, exercise, worming and vaccination advice.

-
Each puppy is registered with The Kennel Club and all certificates/documentation will be given to new puppy owners upon collection of their puppy.

-
Puppies will not leave our home until they are at least 8 weeks of age.

-
We keep in touch with the new puppy owner and enjoy seeing updates via social media.

-
We are always happy to give advice and answer any concerns that new owners may have.

A responsible breeder will:

-
Spend time chatting to you on the phone and will arrange a time for you to visit to meet their puppies, along with their mum and siblings, in the place where they were born and raised.
-
Be happy to have more than one meeting to ensure you and the puppy are compatible.
-
Be happy to answer all of your questions and ask you just as many to make sure their puppies are going to a good home.
-
Be happy to use The Puppy Contract.
-
Be happy to show you their Local Authority license if they are breeding and selling pets as a business (to make a profit).
-
Provide genuine paperwork/certificates for puppy vaccinations, microchipping (which is a legal requirement), worming and results for health test where relevant.
